Now Hiring: Research Associates, Scientists, and Professors

The Ted and Karyn Hume Center for National Security and Technology is a university-level research center at Virginia Tech. Its mission is to cultivate the next generation of national security leaders by developing and executing experiential learning and research programs to engage students.

As one of the fastest growing research centers at Virginia Tech, sponsors and collaborators benefit from both highly experienced student talent and technical research leadership that address some of our nation’s greatest security challenges. The Hume Center team, most of whom have prior experience in industry and government roles, executes research on behalf of military and intelligence agencies and the companies that support them. We are seeking qualified individuals to join the research teams in our Aerospace Systems LabElectronic Systems Lab, and Information Systems Lab. The Center has open positions for research associates, scientists, and professors in all three of our labs.

Hume Center labs conduct research in cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, wireless communications, radar, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, cubesats and smallsats, unmanned systems, and mission autonomy. Its researchers have the opportunity to execute programs in the national interest while helping develop students for national security careers.
