Now Acceptiong Applications for Raytheon Fellowship Program

The Hume Center for National Security and Technology is now accepting applications for the Raytheon Fellowship Program.

The core goal of the Fellowship Program is to support Raytheon with the identification and cultivation of a pipeline of future clearable U.S. citizens interested in cybersecurity, machine learning, and analytics careers at Raytheon IIS. 

Through this program, selected students will attend bi-weekly lectures,  complete a project-based curriculum to prepare them for summer internships at Raytheon, and will be given the opportunity to visit a Raytheon facility and meet with Raytheon representatives.

Contingent on performance, a number of students will be offered full-time positions with security clearances at Raytheon upon graduation and completion of the Fellowship Program. Selected students will start their security clearance process after their first internship at Raytheon.

BENEFITS

Students who participate in this program will garner significant benefits to their educational and long-term career goals by:

  • Receiving a $1700 stipend per semester their first year in the program
    • Students will receive a $2100 per semester their second year and beyond in the program
  • Opportunity to visit Raytheon sites
  • Gaining exposure to the work of National Security
  • Improving critical thinking skills, communication capabilities and other core skills  Improving the understanding of global affairs and obtaining better awareness of different cultures and societies

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

Students will be required to meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • US Citizen
  • Current Sophomore or Junior with and expected graduation date of May 2022
  • Preferred  majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CMDA, and BIT-Cyber
    • Other degree programs with a Cybersecurity Minor or Cyber Operations Track would also be of interest
    • Majors in Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering will also be considered
  • Willingness to commit to a full time job at Raytheon upon completion of program.
    • This commitment will be a 2 year period upon completion of the program.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Students will be required to meet the following requirements after acceptance into the program:

  • Restricted research training (to be provided by the Hume Center)
  • Attend the annual Colloquium during the spring semester
  • Provide resume to be shared in the Hume Center’s annual resume book
  • Complete any additional questionnaires/annual surveys as requested to aid in gathering data and improving programming
  • Maintain good academic and Honor code status while enrolled in the program
  • Check email and the Canvas site for regular updates.
